Miss Aniela
Originally purely an internet phenomenon, who had printed only a small amount of her tremendous output Miss Aniela came to the attention of our Studio Manager after seeing many of her images on Flickr. Miss Aniela is the work of Natalie Dybisz, she was the first exhibitor who was given a solo exhibition without entering the competition, instead gaining the space just on the strength of her existing work.We were really pleased when this unique and daring exhibition proved to be a great success. We presented almost the entire flickr photostream of her work as well as showcasing some of the key images mounted on Aluminum. Working mainly in self portraiture, the exhibition provided the first real jump for Miss Aniela into the real world and she has subsequently featured in numerous publications and TV and radio interviews, and will undoubtably continue to grow as a mainstream cultural phenomenon, and internet icon.
