NK Swallow, founding member of North Laine Photography and MD. Nigel sold his first calendar in Nov 2000, from a pitch outside a closed down funeral parlour. Full of iconic images capturing the spirit of Brighton and Hove, the first years run sold out before Christmas and from then on NLP has gone from a fly pitch, to Brighton's best loved and most visited independent gallery. Nigel has covered so many aspects of Brighton life that he is closest the city will come to a Brighton chronicle- from Pride to Paddle Round the Pier, car rallies, Streets of Brighton, Festivals, Parades but also the less flamboyant, quieter moments, that make Brighton and Hove such a unique city. He has developed a style that is immediate but considered, a documentary photographer who engages with the subjects he photographs and captures their essence.
